My Favorite Things!! (And maybe yours too!)

This past year like many of us had plenty of time on our hands. This allowed for me to really reflect on self-care to show up to be the best I can be for my family members who we all are spending a lot more time than we are used to. So here they are! My 16 favorite things this past year. (By the way, I do not get paid for this. I just love sharing what I love. )

1)

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer Duo I was in dire need for a great under eye coverup. I got a little too relaxed that the use of makeup was practically non-existent. It actually took some time for me to reapply my makeup! This was a nice surprise. I liked the smooth glide application. It is full coverage and I feel like I do not need a lot of products to do its job. So I’m pretty pleased with this one.

2)

On Cloud running shoes My newest shoe! I decided to take up running again after getting a headstart on my peloton app. I realize I actually missed it. These shoes are live up to their name. It feels like I'm running on clouds.

3)

Get Out of Your Head book By Jennie Allen I invited a few girl friends to read along with me. I love the practical tools she gives in this book that can be applied right away.

4)

Improper Candles - Kinda Classy, Kinda Hood candle I love supporting local businesses and fellow women bosses. You can find her amazing hand-poured soy candles on Instagram. You’ll love the names of these candles and even more the delicious scents. My favorite? Kinda Classy, Kinda Hood not only does it remind me of the smell during my wedding, I’d say that best describes me. :)

5)

Plants from @honestthriftstudio My covid hobby became collecting and caring for house plants. This obsession started when I stepped foot into Honest Thrift Store. The best hidden gem in San Diego!! Another small business gal pal who has not only the most amazing plants, but incredible second hand “treasures” for sale. Their sister store Garden Coffee has the best coffee, vegan pastries and amazing, friendly staff, and not to mention the gorgeous patio area to hangout as we stroll into the Hones Thrift. So if you are ever in San Diego, you’ll need to stop by here.

6)

Nespresso Machine So my first Nespresso machine I got was completely amazing and has forever shifted my perspective on how home brewed coffee should taste like. If you haven't tasted coffee from Nespresso, let me tell you, I don’t know why I waited so long! Let me just say, it’s like ordering from a barista every morning at your local coffee roasters. We decided to upgrade our machine during the pandemic to this one. Well, one, because it was time for a new one, and two, it was an amazing deal!

7)

The Simplified Journal from Emily Ley Are you a mom with lots of thoughts running through your head? I’m always talking about my Simplified Planner and thought to give Emily Ley’s journal a go. I absolutely found it to be useful. I have used this journal as my nightly routine. There’s a section to journal down thoughts, what went well, what did not, and reflect on how I felt during the day. The best part is the brains dump section. This is where I can put all those lingering thoughts from the day on paper so i can get a good night’s sleep and not have these thoughts keep me up. Oh, you too? This journal has helped so much.

8)

Love Beauty Shampoo & Conditioner Coconut Oil & Ylang-Ylang My daughter actually brought this to my attention. I’m always looking for some reasonably priced hair care products that will help with my hair issues. I love that Love Beauty is all about clean natural products that keep my hair feeling silky smooth and smelling amazing!

9)

Ella & Mila nail polish What else was there to do at home than do my nails? I love the color selection and how thick yet smooth this nail polish goes on. And they last! I had plenty of fun mixing up the color palette on my hands.

10)

Viki app Okay, my guilty pleasure is Korean drama!! I actually got my mom to start watching. Plenty of friends who share this obsession with me recommended this app. Think Netflix but for all types of Asian films, series and shows. It’s free if you don’t mind the advertising or you can subscribe for commercial-free viewing and access to more exclusive shows.

11)

Inspirational Quotes by Smallwoods You’ll find in my home short quotes of inspiration for my family and guests to read in hopes to be simple reminders that bring hope. So when I found this one by Smallwoods, I knew it would sit perfectly on our piano in our living room.

12)

The ROOTED Program Why not give the gift of education, personal development and community? Moms of tween/teen girls are my favorite people, and this is written and created for them. I'll leave it at that!

13)

Peloton App So with gyms having closed, I needed to do something STAT!! The Peloton app has been a life saver and the instructors are pretty entertaining and very motivating. You don’t have to have their bikes to use it, I don’t. I simply use my treadmill for the tread workouts or utilize the abundant other forms of exercise workouts at home.

14)

Barefoot Dream CozyChic Cardigan I purchased this cardigan during Nordstrom’s annual Anniversary Sale last summer. As I am typing this blog, I am currently wearing it. It’s my absolute favorite cozy piece of clothing I have! The best thing about it, it’s super versatile.

15)

Spanx Leggings Ladies! Ever since I purchased my pair of faux leather spanx leggings, I have been raving about them ever since. Just ask my girlfriends!! I love a pair of leggings that can be worn practically with anything and for any occasion. And because it’s made by Spanx, it definitely hold everything in without feeling like everything is held in. WIN-WIN!!

16)

Adidas Stan Smiths As a mom of teens, one of the nice perks is that you get to be in the know of the latest fashion trends. Really the story behind these shoes is that my oldest son had a huge say in this purchase, so much that he bought this pair for me himself to make sure I got just the right shoe. It’s not just any pair of white sneakers. And yes, he’s right, I love them!!
